   Neuschwanstein Castle has 180 minutes allocated to the castle visit and approach. The interior tour lasts about 30 minutes on the castle's opening hours page. The shuttle bus via the bridge is included only when the bus runs and the bridge is open.

2. Wieskirche 30 min

   Wieskirche has a 30 minute stop between the castle and Oberammergau. The baroque pilgrimage church is also called the Church in the Meadow. The driver takes you to Oberammergau next.

3. Oberammergau 90 min

   Oberammergau gives you 90 minutes for lunch or time in the village. Food and drinks are paid separately. The stop leaves time for the shops and painted houses.

4. Linderhof Palace 120 min

   Linderhof Palace has 120 minutes allocated, with admission included. Linderhof's opening hours page gives about 25 minutes for the guided palace tour. The Moorish Kiosk is closed for renovation.

• The official ticket page asks you to reach Hohenschwangau 1.5 to 2 hours before your Neuschwanstein Castle entry time. Be in the courtyard before the time on your ticket. Count back: your castle entry time determines when to leave the village.
• The castle's directions page gives 30 to 40 minutes uphill from the Ticket Center Hohenschwangau to Neuschwanstein Castle. The shuttle bus normally costs €3.50 uphill or €5 return on the Ticket Center's transport page. The bus from P4 takes about 15 minutes, followed by 15 minutes downhill on foot to the castle.
• The horse carriage to Neuschwanstein Castle costs €8 uphill or €4 downhill. The ride from Hotel Müller takes about 20 minutes, then leaves 10 to 15 minutes uphill on foot to the castle. Neither the horse carriage nor the shuttle bus has a fixed timetable or accepts reservations.
• The Ticket Center's FAQ permits regular backpacks and handbags, while excluding bulky luggage and hiking backpacks. Strollers stay in the courtyard storage room under the Ticket Center's family page rules. The castle's visitor information page prohibits photography and filming inside the castle.
• The child fare covers ages 0 to 17 only when sharing with 2 paying adults. Infant seats are available. The tour requires moderate fitness for the climbs and castle stairs.
