Itinerary

  1. Oberammergau 60 min

Oberammergau gives you 60 minutes in the village while other passengers visit the Alpine Coaster. The village stop has no extra visit charge. You cannot fit both alternatives into the morning.

  2. Alpine Coaster Oberammergau 60 min

The Alpine Coaster occupies the alternative 60 minute morning stop. The ride includes a 20 minute chairlift ascent before the coaster descent. Your coaster payment is extra and taken in cash.

  3. Lunch stop 60 min

The brewery lunch stop lasts 60 minutes, with food paid separately. You can bring your own lunch or buy food nearby. Your coach fare does not include the meal.

  4. Hohenschwangau Castle

Know before you go

  • The official ticket page asks for arrival in Hohenschwangau 1.5 to 2 hours before your Neuschwanstein Castle entry time. Be in the castle courtyard before your timed tour. Count back: your castle time determines when to leave the village.
  • The walk from the Ticket Center Hohenschwangau to Neuschwanstein Castle takes 30 to 40 minutes on the castle's directions page. The shuttle bus costs €3.50 uphill or €5 return on the Ticket Center's transport page. The bus from P4 takes about 15 minutes, then leaves a steep 15 minute walk downhill to the castle.
  • The horse carriage to Neuschwanstein Castle costs €8 uphill or €4 downhill. The ride from Hotel Müller takes about 20 minutes, followed by 10 to 15 minutes uphill to the castle. The shuttle bus and horse carriage have no fixed timetable or reservations.
  • Regular backpacks and handbags are allowed on the Ticket Center's FAQ; bulky luggage and hiking backpacks cannot enter Neuschwanstein Castle. The Ticket Center's family page allows strollers in the courtyard storage room, outside the castle rooms. The castle's visitor information page prohibits photography and filming inside the castle.
  • Bring cash for castle admission and any extras. The castle supplement differs between the booking description and itinerary; ask Mikes Bike Tours Munich for the payable amount. The adult coach fare covers ages 16 to 65. Cancellation gives a full refund at least 24 hours before departure.
  • The bridge can close with winter snow or ice on the Marienbrücke page. The shuttle bus also stops running with snow or ice on the road. Your castle visit can still go ahead when the bridge closes.
